ASB Constitution
ARTICLE IV. EXECUTIVE COUNCIL
Section 2: Qualifications
A. Must be an active member of the ST Student Body on campus.
1. May not be on independent studies for the duration of the term.
B. Must earn a cumulative 2.5 GPA with no failing grades during each six weeks grading period in the term of
office (including non-elects)
C. Must have a cumulative 2.5 GPA or better with no failing grades during the six weeks grading period preceding
the election.
D. In the event of an “incomplete grade,” remaining grades must have a cumulative 2.5 GPA or better. As soon as
an incomplete grade is made up grades will be averaged again.
ARTICLE VII. STUDENT BODY ELECTIONS
Section 1. Eligibility
A. See ARTICLE IV, Section 2.
B. Any member of various class levels may run for any of the positions within the government of that class level.
C. Any student, regardless of class level, may run for ASB office, except that of ASB President and ASB Vice
President.
1. A candidate for ASB President must be a senior during term of office.
2. A candidate for ASB President must have at least 1 of the 2 required years holding an elected position. The
second year may be held as a non-elect.
3. A candidate for ASB Vice President may be either a junior or senior during term of office.
4. A candidate for Vice President must have previously held more than 50% of a term of an elected position in
the STHS ASB government.

Brief Job Descriptions:
President (four positions; all elected)
(Four Elected Presidents; three class and one Executive President)
Serves as observer on the Executive Council and as voting member on the General Council
Presides over all class meetings and class officer meetings
Official representative of class
Chairperson for all class sponsored/related events
Responsible for coordinating advertising and publicizing all ASB events (guaranteeing display on marquee, communication with broadcasting, posters, fliers, social media, contacting local media, schoolloop messages, etc)
Performs any duties assigned by the ASB President and Activities Director
Executive President
(in addition to the above)
Presides over all Executive Council and General Council meetings
Votes only in the event of a tie among other voting members in the ASB General Council
Calls regular and emergency meetings of the Executive Council
Acts as the school representative on the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Board
Official Chairperson of all ASB sponsored events

Promotes school related activities using posters, signs, announcements, etc.
Responsible for contacting the local media for major school events

Responsible for communicating with school bank for all matters pertaining to the Student Body funds.
Presides over all student organizations, clubs, and sports expenditures
Picks up weekly financial packet
Handles all ASB-run event expenditures
Assists class treasurers in budgeting process
Performs any duties assigned by the ASB President and Activities Director
(in addition to the above; however not a voting member of the General Council)
Presents monthly statement to the Executive Council
